$5,000/Month Selling Wall Art? (Print On Demand Tutorial – Niche Research, Design, Mockup)
Are you looking to earn a passive income of $5,000 a month by selling wall art? With the rise of Print On Demand (POD), creating and selling unique wall art has never been easier. This comprehensive tutorial covers niche research, design tips, and how to create enticing mockups that attract customers. Let’s dive in!
Step 1: Niche Research
Understanding Your Target Audience
Before you design your wall art, it’s crucial to identify your target audience. Consider the following steps:
Explore Trends: Use tools like Google Trends, Pinterest, and Instagram to identify popular themes and styles. Look for recurring motifs that resonate with potential customers.
Identify Pain Points: What do your customers desire? Think about niche interests such as motivational quotes, abstract art, or personalized items. Finding a specific niche can set you apart from competitors.
- Competitor Analysis: Investigate what other sellers are offering. Explore platforms like Etsy, Redbubble, and Society6 to see what types of wall art are trending and which gaps you can fill.
Keywords and SEO
Use relevant keywords in your research. Phrases such as "modern wall art," "abstract prints," or "customizable wall decor" can enhance your visibility on search engines. Incorporate these keywords into your product descriptions and blog posts.
Step 2: Design Your Wall Art
Tools for Creating Eye-Catching Designs
Graphic Design Software: Utilize tools like Canva, Adobe Illustrator, or Procreate to craft your designs. These platforms offer user-friendly features that cater to both beginners and experienced designers.
- Authenticity and Originality: Make your designs unique by incorporating your personal style or aesthetic. Whether it’s vibrant colors or minimalist styles, authenticity resonates with customers.
Design Tips
- Keep It Simple: Sometimes, less is more. Clean, straightforward designs can draw attention.
- Color Psychology: Use colors that evoke specific emotions related to your niche, like soothing tones for relaxation or vibrant hues for energy.
- High Resolution: Ensure your designs are high-resolution (300 DPI) for clear printing.
Step 3: Create Stunning Mockups
Importance of Mockups
Mockups serve as a visual representation of how your wall art will look in a real setting. High-quality mockups can significantly boost your sales by attracting customers.
Tools for Mockup Creation
Placeit: This tool allows you to create realistic mockups easily. Simply upload your design and choose from a variety of room settings.
- Smartmockups: Similar to Placeit, Smartmockups offers multiple templates that can enhance the presentation of your art.
Tips for Effective Mockups
- Choose the Right Environment: Display your art in settings that align with your target audience’s lifestyle.
- Add Context: Use lifestyle images where the art is displayed in homes, offices, or galleries to help customers visualize its use.
Step 4: Set Up Your Online Store
Creating an online store is essential for selling your wall art. Here are platforms to consider:
Etsy: Ideal for handmade and unique items, Etsy allows you to reach a targeted audience interested in art and decor.
Shopify: A versatile e-commerce platform that lets you customize your store and manage sales efficiently.
- Print-On-Demand Services: Partner with services like Printful or Printify. These platforms handle printing and shipping for you, so you can focus on designing.
Step 5: Market Your Wall Art
Social Media Marketing
Utilize platforms like Instagram and Pinterest to showcase your art. Engage with your audience by posting behind-the-scenes content, design tips, and customer testimonials.
SEO Strategies
Ensure your website is optimized for search engines. Use relevant keywords in your product descriptions, blog posts, and meta tags to improve your visibility.
Email Marketing
Build an email list to keep your customers informed about new designs, discounts, or promotional offers. Regular newsletters can keep your audience engaged and encourage repeat purchases.

Let me know what other products you want me to make video guides about… whatever is most requested I will make!
This was insanely valuable! The step-by-step breakdown—from niche research to mockups—makes earning $5K/month feel much more achievable. Thanks for sharing such practical strategies and real examples
This video is a game-changer! So much helpful information packed into one clip. I personally don't like promoting anything in comments, but I simply have to share with you a book called Diamond Riches Formula by John Barth that book changed my approach to money, the methods in that book are impressive
There seems to be a key piece missing here: fulfillment. Where do you go to fulfill the orders? Who actually creates the art you design and ships it?? Thank you.
Getting sir
, thank you so much for this helpful video. I truly appreciate you.
Right now, I already have my own niche, and I’ve started working on some designs. My plan is to create about 50 designs and then publish them.
But my biggest challenge is that I don’t have a payment method to receive money from this business.
I don’t have a PayPal account, Stripe account, or Shop Payment account, and all of them require SSN (Social Security Number).
Since I’m not a U.S. citizen, they also ask for an ITIN number.
The major problem is—I don’t have the money to apply for an ITIN number, which costs at least $400. That’s a lot of money in our local currency.
This is my main challenge.
Please, is there any way you can help me with this? 🙏💳🌍💼😔
Unless these products are supplied and printed in the USA, Trump’s tariffs will significantly increase the price and reduce the supply of these POD goods.
How about selling AI music / music videos??
Sadly a lot of these products are not available in the UK unless your customer are prepared to wait silly lead times.
Thank you for saving "niche" correctly (not "nitch" lol).
I can’t wait for the bootcamp. 🏆
i do 20-30k/month myself same industry but this is my first full year 100% self employed
One question: I would love to know what POD companies have those wood signs. They are huge and look pretty well made but I haven't found any place that carries them. All I get is private companies that have all the tools available to them. Thank you for this great video.
Hi Joe, Your video is very informative. Could you please share which software or tools you use for designing and searching keywords? Knowing this would give me more confidence. I really appreciate your help and support. Many thanks
