Top Interior Paint Colors for 2025: How to Pick Paints Like a Designer
As we look ahead to 2025, the world of interior design continues to evolve, reflecting shifts in lifestyle, technology, and personal preferences. Choosing the right paint colors can transform a space, making it feel fresh, inviting, and stylish. In this article, we’ll explore the top interior paint colors for 2025 and provide expert tips on how to select the perfect hues for your home like a designer.
Trending Colors for 2025
1. Earthy Neutrals
Earthy neutrals are making a significant comeback in 2025, offering a warm and comforting backdrop for any room. Think soft beiges, taupes, and light browns that echo nature’s palette. These colors create a serene environment and work beautifully with both modern and traditional decor.
2. Deep Greens
Inspired by the great outdoors, deep greens are poised to dominate interior spaces in 2025. From forest green to sage, these shades bring life and tranquility to a room. Pair deep green with light wood accents for a balanced look, or use it as a statement wall to add depth and richness.
3. Soft Pastels
Soft pastels are not just for nurseries anymore. In 2025, expect to see shades like pale lavender, soft peach, and mint green gracing the walls of trendy homes. These colors evoke a sense of calm and creativity, making them ideal for bedrooms or creative spaces.
4. Bold Jewel Tones
For those who love a dramatic flair, jewel tones such as emerald, sapphire, and ruby are making waves in the interior design scene. These rich colors can be used sparingly as accent walls or in furniture pieces to create a focal point that draws the eye.
5. Warm Whites
Gone are the days of stark, cold whites. In 2025, warm whites with hints of cream or beige will reign supreme. This soft hue offers a cozy atmosphere while keeping spaces looking bright and airy. Warm whites are incredibly versatile and can be paired with virtually any color scheme, making them a designer’s go-to choice.
How to Choose Paint Colors Like a Designer
1. Consider Your Space
Evaluate the size, natural light, and architecture of your room. Darker hues can make a small room feel cozier, while lighter shades can open up the space. Take note of how light behaves in your space throughout the day.
2. Create a Cohesive Color Palette
Look for colors that complement each other. A harmonious color palette enhances the overall aesthetic of your home. Use a color wheel or online tools to find complementary shades and create balance.
3. Test Samples
Before committing to a color, apply samples on your walls and observe how they look at different times of the day. Colors can appear quite different in varying light conditions, so ensure you’re happy with your choice in every setting.
4. Think About Mood
Colors can influence emotions and ambiance. Cool shades like blue and green promote tranquility, while warmer tones can make a space feel more energetic and inviting. Determine the mood you wish to set in each room before making a selection.
5. Don’t Forget the Finish
The finish of your paint can impact the overall look and feel of your spaces. Matte paints are excellent for hiding imperfections, while satin or semi-gloss finishes reflect light and are easier to clean, making them ideal for high-traffic areas.

As a person who loves color, I swoon. These colors are absolutely gorgeous. Thank you!
Okay maybe I spoke to soon
Sure you have it all right and I don't think that it is going to work for me 😮
Why does every video have to be fancy homes, what about normal homes. I mean in homes like these every color looks good.
These interior color combinations are so creative and inspiring! They add such a unique touch to the space. I’d love to hear your thoughts on my latest video!
Loved the first one., absolutely beautiful!
All shades of muted green is my favorite color, along with other earthy tones of brown and grey so I love this!
What a great video to get me started on our remodel. We bought a 60's ranch that was painted ALL gray with gray floor. I am moving away from gray blue and love the Mocha colors. Thanks for inspiring me.
Would you please let me know what the color of the wall behind you is? The effect seemed to be suade or lime wash. Please provide specifics if you can. Many thanks.
What color should I use with this
I came here for the colours stayed for the Designer ☺
Adjusting my comment. Ashley replied immediately to my huge misunderstanding. There are two guides!!
Your bedroom paint color is beautiful. It looks llke suede. How did you get the textured look?
I painted our dining room and half bath with a Ralph Lauren mocha brown in the early 2000's. We've since sold that house, but I still love the color. And I've had greenish gray paint colors in or on my homes since the early 90's. Green has always been my favorite color.
Yuck
Gorgeous 🤩 love the earthy tones
I love the earth tones. Thanks for sharing.
I’m going to color drench my office/library with SW Rosemary. Can’t wait to do it.
I'm partial to verdant revival, with earthy elegance and nuanced neutrals tied for second. Thanks for the video and for the option to download the information on the color palettes. 🥰
Love the colours but i doubt all viewers live the monied lifestyle shown here. Trying to imagine in a more ordinary home
Thank you for showing art that is not only simple neutral abstracts. I'm an artist and for a couple of years I noticed mostly non-representational art in a lot of interiors.
I love them all apart from the red group.
Building our dream home in the southwest and I love the reds! I want to color drench our bedroom with red. Thank you for putting this out!
Thank you so much!!
As a follow up to my previous comment, I found the color selections to be absolutely timeless, not just a random pick of "fad" co!ors. Beautiful and varied for a wide range of tastes. So well done!
Well said! You're descriptions of the colors are amazing and so in-depth This is the best paint color video I've seen. Also love the selection of photos. I will definitely save this video and refer to it when I'm ready to paint. You've taken the angst out of the color selection dilemma.

Hello Ashley,
I love the trendy colors this year, however it is always very difficult for me to reproduce them at home since I live in Italy. To your knowledge, is there an application or software that could with the color code, give me the exact recipe, regardless of the brand of paint? 🤔🙏
this is great, but do you have videos for the colorblind? I'd like to paint my house, but I need to understand what color I am painting it. I'd like to find things that look nice to me, but that I also know the color that other people are seeing. For example, when I was at 14:00, you went through the neutrals. I'd like to paint my home those nice light colors, but need better descriptions of what they actually are. I once painted my living room in what I thought was a light gray, only to find out from other people that I'd painted my living room green.
Last year while picking colours for my new home I chose a coffee bean colour for my kitchen island and trim on hood and shelves. I even have my wood mantle in same colour for continuity in open concept with off white cabinets, black and copper accents. Not a fan of red but I did like seeing those options. Love the olive green but not the bright greens or lime colours, green smoke was my favourite of the greens. Love the earthy elegance colours just so timeless and beautiful.
I like all of the choices that you recommended and thanks for the download for guidance 😊
